Last Sunday’s message was intended to lay out a continuing vision for this new year. We looked at how God has blessed our church and its efforts to reach out to our community with the love of Jesus. Wow. God has worked! Yet, I don’t want anyone to think that projects are the vision of our church. They aren’t. We are not about projects. We are about becoming the people that God has called us to be. That is what our Scripture was about. It wasn’t just about another way to reach out. The Scripture was about becoming someone who cares about what God cares about.
Have we really thought much lately about what God cares about? I mean, do we ask if God’s priorities are ours? I know that He cares deeply about us. So, therefore, He cares about what we care about. But… is the reverse also true? Do we care about Him so deeply that we make His priorities our own? So many things attract our attention. Do we focus our attention on the things that matter to God?
In a new year we talk about resolutions. Would this be a resolution that you can stick to? Would you embrace God’s priorities as your own? How much would it change your life?
Something to think about,
Pastor John
